Re: SILK OR SATIN PILLOWCASES

I am a cotton girl. I have no wrinkles until I whip out my ten power makeup mirror and then I see a few. Reading glasses off and I don't see even one ...it's fun being oblivious.

@Shanus

Crow's feet are wrinkles.  ;-)

But they're often from smiling or laughing, which is nice

Besides, wrinkles/lines add character to a person's face and make it more interesting.

 @HappyDaze

I totally agree with what you are saying.

Wrinkles are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.

But, we are a youth obsessed society, and it's a "sin" for any woman to look a day over 25, which is why the beauty industry is a multi-billion dolar industry, pushing their latest lotion, potion and creams, all promising to erase time off of our faces, and to keep us looking 25.

I want my entire body to sort of 'match', LOL, as it looks unnatural to me when just the face apears to be many years younger.

One of the telltale signs:  shiny cheeks.

Wish people could just age with humor and grace.  What's the point of trying to fool anybody?

Interesting because silk normally has a slight texture to it, especially natural silk whereas satin (whether natural or polyester) is slightly slippery.  I would think that between the two, the satin would be preferable and be the best for not pulling on the face while we sleep....

I use whatever pillowcases match the sheets.

My hair is Jamie Lee Curtis short and even if I slept sitting in a straight chair, I'd have to wash it the next day. My hair just doesn't feel clean on day two.

As for wrinkles, I don't really have any....yet.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I agree @HappyDaze. It borders on ridiculous to sit there and say at almost 70 you have no wrinkles on your face. Even at 50 yrs old no matter how wonderful you were to your skin or how wonderful your skin is and the products you use or the procedures you have done will not make a face wrinkle free. If your skin never saw the light of day in 50 yrs there is still a little thing called gravity and repeated movements of the face from laughing, crying, talking, having expressions and living life.

I am 48 and haven't been a day without sunscreen since around 1989. I take excellent care of my skin, use retin a, vit c and other great products with great ingredients. While I could get injectables through my job I haven't because I have immune problems and choose not to because of the chance of infection but I have had several laser procedures. Despite all of that I still have some wrinkles because it is unavoidable. There is nothing wrong with that and it is natural and nothing to be ashamed of. I think we all try to do our best with our skin so we can look our best no matter our age but wrinkles will still be there despite all of that. It would actually look really weird to see a face of those ages WITHOUT wrinkles.

I haven't seen a 68 yr old person out there with no wrinkles because there isn't a 68 yr old person out there with no wrinkles. It sounds ridiculous when someone tries to convince anyone otherwise. You could have lived your life in an underground bunker never seeing the light of day and you would still have wrinkles.

You are so right when you say we are lucky enough to get wrinkles and we most definitely should be thankful.

@HappyDazeI'm 65 and my skin is smooth but I wasn't talking about not having wrinkles. That is a given most of the time at my age. I do think that sleeping on a silk pillowcase has helped. And taking good care of my skin all my life, thanks to my Mother.

I had a good friend that even at the age of 70, she didn't have one wrinkle. Lucky lady.
