@jellyBEAN Thanks for clarifying. The other lady is lacking in the manners department. Since you had just been introduced again to her she didn't really need to say anything about her name. The polite thing for her to do was to say nice to see you again. But she wanted to make a point for some reason. Like others have said let it go. Don't waste another minute thinking about her.

Maybe the poor woman didn't know what to say and just said that because. . . Haven't all of us done that? I sure have and though oh good grief why did I say that. . .
I think if you haven't you haven't been around people much or I am worse than I think I am.

The poor woman?? Nope I have never corrected anyone for getting my name wrong or mispronouncing it. I am not that important. The "poor woman" could have simply said Hi I'am Sarah. She did not have to say you called me by the wrong name.

@jellyBEAN - IMO she was wrong to say what she did. Had I been in her situation I would have let it go and probably gone up to you when you were alone and said, "By the way, my name is. . ."
What a shame she brought it up in front of the whole group. BUT, if I were you I would just laugh about it if it comes up again. ![]()

So, JB, you got some interesting responses ...
How are you feeling now about the whole thing?

@50Mickey Yes. I give her the benefit of the doubt. Not everyone is comfortable around people, not everyone is used to interacting with people they don't know. Why assume she is rude, said it to hurt someone. It's a pretty simple thing.
I try to not think the worst of people until proven wrong. I don't see a reason not to.

why should you be embarrassed? I would have laughed and said omg sorry about that and moved on.

I think you feel the way you feel and that's ok. She shouldn't have called you out in front of everyone, but you can't control others behavior. We are all human and forget from time to time especially as we age. Give yourself some grace.
