Re: SHOOTING AT CHURCH OUTSIDE OF SAN ANTONIO TEXAS

A grandmother is on MSNBC saying her 7 year old granddaughter has died and her other grandchildren were also shot, a grandson 4 times.

Now they are saying he was dishonorably discharged from the air force. It sounds like he was a very disturbed person

To me this isn't totally about a problem with guns but a real problem with the mental health care, or lack of it, in this country.

Fox said they've confirmed shooter is Devin Kelley.  Still don't see it on CNN.

Re: SHOOTING AT CHURCH OUTSIDE OF SAN ANTONIO TEXAS

Its hard to imagine a grandmother just hearing about her 7 year old grandaughter's death just an hour ago, answering questions on the news.

She must be in shock or something. I wouldn't be able to talk.

Maybe it is unreal to her and talking about it makes it real-I don't know.

Did anyone else find that so strange?

Its so sad and horrendous its just hard to grasp and I don't know any of them.

I think when something like this happens the families are in such a state of shock it isn't even real to them

They are able to talk about it to the news, because the grief hasn't had time to set in. It also might be cathartic in some way to let it out

@on the bay

I heard her.  I thought she was obviously in shock.

I think she's afraid to stop talking and be still.  Poor woman.

I noticed that also.  It is sad that mass shootings have become so common they are not breaking news anymore.  The three cable news stations are covering it.

Re: SHOOTING AT CHURCH OUTSIDE OF SAN ANTONIO TEXAS

It also seems unreal to me to wonder about the motives-there can be no reasonable answer. And whatever "motive", its a horribly disturbed, mentally ill person.

Its chilling that there may be people who are so angry and depressed that instead of commiting suicide, they see the norm in going out shooting everyone they can with an automatic! And all the news coverage over and over, the ones who are so sick, see this as a way to go out.

If our country didn't do anything after Sandy Hook, I don't know, its just insane.
