Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

@Shanus I also worry some about getting lost.  But equally, if going to an unfamiliar area, I fear high bridges and high arcing curves on highways.  Hence, I'm pretty much a home-body these days!!!!!Smiley Embarassed

Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

I'm just so terrified of bees (any of them - fat, skinny, hairy, long, round) that having a bee near me puts me into some level of trauma.    I'd rather not have that going on.

I started to work on it when I was still in therapy and, sadly, before we got far with it I had to stop going.  This was years ago.   I try to use some of the tools I already have been given but I end up just keeping myself away from any scenario that puts me near where there could be bees.

Just thinking about it right now is giving me anxiety and I'm trying not to cry.

How ridiculous is that?

Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

@Krimpette. Sorry those fears make it so difficult for you.

Here's what I did:

My car doesn't have GPS, so purchased APP for cell phone. I type in where I am (address...home) & address where I'm going, put on ear buds attached to phone lying in console & rarely get lost. Of course have another cord attached to phone and lighter to keep it charged in case God forbid phone runs out of "juice".

Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

@Shanus Actually, I do have a GPS, but don't always remember to take it.  I recently had to go to another city about 30 minutes away.  My niece had provided me with directions, so I didn't feel the need to take my GPS.  Unfortunately, I missed an exit and got hopelessly lost.  Fortunately, I did have my cell phone with me, so my nephew-in-law kept directing me  until I finally reached my destination.  Actually, I used to have a great sense of direction!!!!

@Krimpette. I can't find my behind using both hands. Never have been able to...part of cure GPS, but the other is confidence. Working on second one.

Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

I am terrified of being buried alive. I watched a story about survivors of the avalanche in Italy being trapped for about 60 hrs. Oh my goodness. I had severe anxiety listening to their stories. I just can't imagine.

Re: SHARE A FEAR YOU'D LIKE TO OVERCOME

I'm not wild about spiders. I got bit by one once whenI I went to smash it with a piece of kleenex. It jumped down my pj sleeve. My arm was red and swelled up a lot. I just about freaked out and had to go to the hospital. They gave me an injection of something and wanted to know what the spider looked like. I couldn't really describe it, as I had so much adrenaline running through my body. It's not like I studied it before trying to smash it. All I could say was that it was ugly and light colored.
