@Noel7, this does not go into a window at all-it goes into a wall....

Years ago, we saw some historic row homes in Philadelphia outfitted with these...there are outdoor systems that need to go along with these systems-condensation has to go out somewhere.....but they can be hidden unobtrusively. I know historic areas are really upset about this kind of thing.

Spoiler

We installed two of these in a stilt home: the area we installed them in is not insurable. It's not a living area by insurance standards...we did it for comfort-and we like to entertain. We didn't have to do retrofitting for ducts-it really us worth looking into....

You just should not be in that kind of heat.My insurance wouldn't pay for that, but in your situation with your medical condition- well worth looking into.

Look up "ductless air conditioning" I am pretty sure Mitsubishi will be at the top of the list-but I sure S Heck don't know everything.....

Illness aside, I could never endure those temperatures.....tough on anybody, let alone fighting AI.

You are so strong and brave-we all want you around longer-but you really do need the cooling.

Hugs,

W

It reached 102 at my house today. "Only" 90 now, at almost 5:30.  I just came in from raking outside....Had to wait until 4 to do it, and mainly did the shady areas.

No AC for me,either.  I have the ceiling fan and another fan running, and I'm cooling off with a vodka tonic.

My daughter is enroute from the south, and she said it wasn't as warm down there.

@september, we have ceiling fans -- a particularly good one in our master bedroom on the second floor (heat does rise). It, along with the natural cooling at night here at the beach, allows us to sleep during a rare heatwave like this. But daytime -- another story.

Thanks for reminding me that it's past 5:00. :-)

@suzyQ3.  Yes...This is a gin and  tonic day, but I didn't have gin.  Had to make do with vodka, tonic, lime, and lots of ice!
