We had a very windy day yesterday, but we woke up to a beautiful morning for a hike.  We live next to a preserve and we took off on that trail.  Here are some pics I took.

The tree branch wrapped around the saguaro like it's trying to protect it.

Holes made by birds or disease.  You can see  through to the other side, and the skeleton.

Beautiful specimen!

And they are starting to bloom.

Thank you for sharing such amazing pics @Pezzie .  I don't get to see plants like that around where I live (SC) and appreciate those who share pictures on this board.  Especially such remarkable and beautiful pics like these!

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

@Pezzie

Beautiful and fascinating.  I would love to see one in person, but, living in Maryland, that is highly unlikely.

So majestic against that blue sky!

@Pezzie. I recently ran across this painting of a Saguaro which I really like.  I'm toying with the idea of having it enlarged on canvas, making it look like an original painting.

@Kachina624  You should. It's lovely.  Is that Diane Maderas ?

Looks like her work.  How big a canvas?

I love Saguaros! We don't have them in the desert where I live.
@Pezzie The winds were horrible where I live as well, my eyes are so watery I need windshield wipers, lol.
@Kachina624 That painting is beautiful and would look gorgeous on a large wall canvas!

@Puggywuggy This spring the watery eyes are off the charts.

So many of my friends have that issue as well.  We walk around dabbing at our eyes, like we have been crying.  lol DH has it much worse than I do.
