I recently watched, for the first time in years, Love Story on FLIX movie channel.  If you have Comcast, it should be channel 1771.  That channel plays older movies from 60's on. He was so handsome.

I also remember him from Peyton Place.  Mom watched it faithfully and I would sneak out of bed to hear it.

I agree - hope Farrah Fawcett was waiting for him.

I saw this on the news tonight. Wonder if he was ill.

Paper Moon was my favorite Ryan O'Neal film and Tatum blew me away with her performance at such a young age.

It was always sad to me that Tatum and Ryan had such a rocky relationship for much of her adult life.

Rest in peace, Ryan.

I am just seeing this. Wow. He was just always there. And at one time I think he was always in the news! Now he is with his beloved Farrah.

I remember seeing him in What's Up Doc?  What a moment when Barbra Streisand's character turns around and says, "Love means never having to say you're sorry," and he says something like, "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard"!

That show is on somewhere every day.  It's one of my favorites.  And I agree, he was one of the highlights.

He was super handsome, and a talented actor, for sure! But he was a poor father, and narcissistic. Look at Redmond- Soooo messed-up, either in jail or institutionalized.  From what I read, Ryan provided all the substances for addiction and mental health problems. Of course, the Mother is also part of the picture. Hard to tell exactly what happened there... But a very sad, awful story of a wasted life for Redmond.
