Has died at the age of 82.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

It seems like so many well-known people are dying lately.

Ryan O'Neal was a good looking man.

I was just logging on to say the same thing, Love Story is still one of my favorite movies

Sorry to learn of this.  I was never a fan but enjoyed his work in "Love Story" and "Barry Lyndon".

Loved him especially in two acclaimed films.   In "Paper Moon" with Tatum:

He was so well cast in that.  Sort of a Depression-era flim-flam man,  flighty, a genial con, but good-hearted underneath.  Didn't know how to be a Dad to his little girl, until they took off on an uproarious journey across the Midwest, a few steps ahead of the law...  Madeline Kahn was hilarious in that too.

And "What's Up, Doc" with Streisand--

Hysterical, screwball-type comedy.  This time, he was playing a quiet, meek, professorial type, with a bossy fiancee ( Madeline Kahn again, hugely funny as usual). But Barbra, who is a certified "kook" in this, makes a play for him and scrambles all his assumptions.  They had fantastic chemistry together, and seemed to have a blast with their roles.

He was from a show biz family, through and through, and one feels that he never quite reached his potential as an actor.  Gifted in comedy.

I just read what his broken-hearted son Patrick ( his one child with second wife Leigh Taylor-Young) had to say.  How he adored his father!   It's a sweet, sweet tribute from a loving son.

I know I'm getting old when I am familiar with those who recently passed away.
