Does anyone know why it took so long?

 

It seems like the norm now.  My son-in-laws aunt just died and they waited 2 weeks before her viewing and funeral.

Some funeral homes are booked out 1-2 weeks or more.

Delays for travel in the family due to school, work, or illness. The illness/virus season is a big one right now.

I agree.  It's the norm now.  Just today my friend shared that her favorite uncle passed away last week.  The funeral will be in a few weeks to give out of town family time to arrange travel and lodging.
