Re: Runway show in NEW YORK CITY

In my opinion, and this is only my opinion for whatever it's worth, it was a hot, overhyped unprofessional mess. I actually felt bad for Dennis Basso who I would think has been part of many many real professional fashion events. I surveyed the audience members to see if I could read their faces and it appeared that many were not engaged. Some were chuckling that were closest to the hosts but in general there was little reaction. The hosts and the actual designers seemed like they needed to be over the top in their presenting attitude and it came off loud and ingenuine. I really did not see anything that different than what has been presented outside of the NY show and I did not buy anything. For the record, I have shopped with QVC for many years, have spent a ton of money, and feel that i don't need this over 50 thing hype or extremely animated hosts to encourage me to feel like I am worthy and have made it or as incentive to buy something. I know what I want and if I want it, I will get it. I don't know why the Q has moved in this direction, maybe the sagging sales, but it is doing nothing to encourage me to want to stay with them or buy more. Quite the opposite. Again, my opinion, no one else's just my honest truth to you all.

My opinion of what I saw?  Awful...what a colossal waste of money.

Why not offer the same products from the studio with benefits for everyone, like free S&H at least.  Come up with incentives to buy.

Think of how much the Q spent on all the bookings, food, travel, lodging, on and on to put on this mess.

The only thing the same was the shouting and talking over each other.

p.s.  I prefer Amy's hair natural and her every day styling.

p.s.s.  I'm flabbergasted anyone would PAY to sit there and watch.  Tickets??? Cat Surprised

from what someone else posted they did get a goody tote bag of some lippies, a scarf and a crocheted wallet  . but the food was a few tiny canapes . unlimited champagne was "free"

Re: Runway show in NEW YORK CITY

Tori--

Please read my input with an open mind. I do not say the Q must change for me. I'm simply giving my input or take on last night's "fiasco"-- again, my opinion. I'm actually very disappointed in the direction the Q is taking. Ive shopped for many years and was very supportive but the new direction is actually unappealing to me. I feel confident in myself that I don't need someone to tell me every few minutes that I'm fabulous. I just want to know about the products and decide if I want it or not. I don't want the theatrics and the competition between hosts, between hosts and designers, it all seems distracting.

Again, I choose to put this out there to see if there are others who recall not so long ago the Q without the magnum marketing mania, and guess what, I bought more then!

Thank u for listening

I wonder what Dennis Basso's couture clients would say about all of this!

The only good parts were the models and they tried something new. But they really need to refine it for next year.

Re: Runway show in NEW YORK CITY

I only lasted half an hour. I felt what I did see was very amateurish. I did not know people paid to be there. That is like a department store charging  admission to go into their store and shop.

the only good thing I can say about the show is that one particular host was not there.

Re: Runway show in NEW YORK CITY

I can't believe this thread is still up. Why don't those who don't like a certain show host, vendor, or product just change the channel? Personally I enjoyed the entire show very much. Well done Q!

A lot of people pay to shop Costco, Sam's, and Amazon Prime.

Re: Runway show in NEW YORK CITY

I said this on another thread about the show. I only watched a little bit of it. I like seeing the designers, but I only saw Isaac and Dennis. I like Amy for the most part. I get weary of Shawn. Her made up words and scenarios about where and when to wear something are unnecessary and stupid. I saw a pic of some of the vendors on facebook and none of them seemed dressed up at all- very casual. Maybe they were going to change clothes. Also, as others have said, the audience looked bored. If they insist on doing this, they could do a much better job.
