All the television shows on the main channels are put on hold here in Philly, as the small plane crash is the focus.

There is still not final information on the number of people on the plane, or why and how it crashed, but it was definitely a medical type flight.

However, the plane crashed in a very, very busy area of the city, with houses and shopping areas and traffic everywhere, and debris fell in a wide area.

All the streets in the area are now closed and there is a big response.

The small private plane took off from a small local airport, not our main Philly airport.

Well, they have just changed the information regarding number of people once again.  Now they are saying 4 crew members and one patient.

I really don't know at what point we will get the correct information.

I am heartbroken and praying for God's mercy for the person shown on video who's on fire while stumbling out of the flames. It really hit home what the first responders are dealing with, bless them each and every one.

Our mayor is giving a press conference right now.

She stated that the final number of fatalities is not yet known.

She said cars and homes in the area were also impacted by the plane crash, and she asks everyone to stay away.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance is México's largest private air ambulance service transporting patients throughout North America and beyond.

The crashed aircraft was an adapted Learjet 55, designed for high-speed, long-distance medical transport.

Typical flight crews include two pilots. If the jet is in use for medical transport, patients and family might be on board and the crew could also include paramedics or critical care nurses and a flight doctor. 

According to publicly available flight tracking, the jet had flown earlier in the day from Florida to Philadelphia and left an airport in Northeast Philadelphia for Missouri when it suffered an apparent emergency.

According to FlightAware, the Learjet had been extensively flown this week.  

The jet made three trips Monday in Mexico and Arizona; three trips Tuesday starting in Santa Ana California, then Phoenix, Arizona, and then Mexico.

Wednesday it made two flights in Mexico and New Mexico. Thursday the plane took off in Albuquerque New Mexico, arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, then traveled to Port-au-Prince Haiti, then returned to Miami, Florida.

@FancyPhillyshopper   I know we've spoken before, but I can't remember if you are actually in Philly or in the surrounding suburbs.  I'm about 5 miles from the crash sight.

I'm listening to a livestream - different reports about the number of people on board. I've heard 2, 4, and 6.

Horror stories from witnesses about people on fire and body parts all over.

Praying for everyone this touches.

I live in Philly in the NW area of the city.  The crash was in the NE section of the city.

Philly is pretty big--143 square miles.

I am very familiar with the crash area--I have been to that mall many times, and shopped in the Macy's there.  At one time I worked nearby.

The weather was very poor this evening--rainy, murky, etc.

Unfortunately, small planes have a higher accident rate than large commercial lines.  The plane crashed in a very busy congested area, which added to the challenge, as there were fires everywhere.

My thoughts are with all those impacted, and the first responders who go above and beyond.  Living here in the city I have personally known many of those involved in city government, first responders, etc., etc.  We often say we are a big city, but made up of neighborhoods. 

This past weekend we were celebrating, now we are mourning.

They are back to saying 6 on board.  Four crew members, pediatric patient and escort (family member, no doubt).
