So sad. Heard it a few hours ago and didn't want to post right away on any of the threads. So sad. Shocked. Loved him in so many of the great roles he played.

I think my favorite was Mrs. Doubtfire. Not many could have pulled off that role the way he did . . . Perfection!!!

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it but he was the genie in Disney's Aladdin movie.

This is heartbreaking news. I was such a fan. I'm not usually in tears over celebrities, but this one hits hard.

It is a sad day. I hope that others can see that mental illness is a sickness that is truly difficult to treat. I have heard that most comedians are laughing on the outside but crying on the inside. I think this has a lot of truth to it. We have lost a lot of comedians to this disease in various forms. I will always enjoy Mrs. Doubtfire and all his many works. Prayers and caring to the family.

No, it only means deprivation of sufficient oxygen.

I don't have the heart or inclination to list the many possible causes, but one that's frequent in those who have problems with addiction is drug overdose.

May we remember his life, his smile, his gift of spreading joy, and his countless charitable works.

Some of his movies were my favorites. I loved him in "Good Morning Vietnam", "Awakenings",

"Mrs. Doubtfire", "The Fisher King", and "The Birdcage".

Oh my, The Birdcage! One of my favorites..how could I have forgotten that one.

So many roles.

I heard on the news this evening that four movies are set to come out with him this year.
