Re: Robin Williams found dead???

I commented on the other thread. Last night when I heard the news I really felt as if it was someone I knew. Having watched Robin's career from his first appearance on Happy Days and his continued growth as an entertainer. Comedy, Drama, Improv. He could do it all. As a sort of tribute we watched Mrs. Doubtfire last night. What a tremendous talent.

Feel so sorry for his kids and wife.

It will be hard to watch the 4 movies coming out that are already completed . . . when they do come out . . . I don't even know the titles or other stars in them with him. Usually I don't get bothered by celebrities deaths, divorces and other scandals but this is particularly sad . . . RIP

Ita. I felt bad when Philip Seymour Hoffman died but nothing like this. The last time a celebrity death really got to me was Natalie Wood.

Yes, Natalie's death was tragic. I also remember being really affected when John Ritter died. Robin's death, though, is especially moving.

Why do people wait until a person dies to sing their praises?

Because there are so many people that we like and admire, we can't praise them all every day...and I for one had no clue Robin Williams was the least bit depressed or suicidal and he seemed so joyful, it was a huge surprise.....ok, that is my thoughts.

Re: Robin Williams found dead???

So sad he hanged himself...............surely that was not his only way out............but his life is snuffed out...............so so sad that was his decision............I don't think there is no help for people with depression but I know you have to find the right medicine and right doctor.........surely he had access to the best. Never thought he would ever take his life.........I though did not know he had battled this demon for so long.

This link will take you to the story about Koko, the gorilla that signs, and Robin Williams meeting her. Within the article is the video of the meeting in 2001.

Both the article and the video are very touching. Worth the watch.

Those are the people who we feel like we get to know somehow. Of course we don't really but they have a certain aura.

I'll never forget his tv appearance for St. Jude's Hospital - He was so dear with those children.
