We see some very close  friends on occasion since this covid began.  We have gone to outdoor dining twice and are going again soon.  My question is, am i being too cautious telling them I prefer to drive to the restaurant in separate cars?  We have the previous 2 times.  It would entail a 20 minute car ride but I just feel safer totally outdoors.  We live in NYS by the way and our numbers are way down but we still are being very cautious.

Safety first. Better safe than sorry. What else can I say?

@bargainsgirl  I agree with you.  There is still too much uncertainty with this virus.  Close friends will understand.

I think you are doing the right thing.  Small enclosed spaces should probably be avoided.  I'm sure people will be chiming in that it wouldn't bother them but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Separate cars --- safety first.

I'm only riding in the car with my husband and my mom. And I really don't want to ride with my husband, as he works full time still, but I do. I won't even get in a car with my adult son right now, as he works two jobs, as well as is not staying home or wearing a mask.

It's no so much about me being afraid of getting sick, I'm worried about my 84 year old mom, as she lives next door, and I do a lot with and for her, so I don't want to bring the virus to her.

@bargainsgirl  Go for the separate cars, if it's easy. We often do separate cars due to people on call, etc.

So unpredictable and so much we don't know. Better safe than sorry. My BIL tested positive this week. His wife works in medical field and she tested negative. BIL is retired with compromised immune system. He limited his contacts. I haven't seen him since January. Thankfully he has mild symptons. I'm hearing positive news about vaccine testing. Stay safe!

@bargainsgirl    I think at this time it's very wise to go in separate cars.  You can control the contacts you have but have no control over what your friends have done.
