I LOVE ❤️ me some Prince and Rick James too!  I mean, how can you not?

When I first got an iPhone they were both among the very first artists I purchased albums of from iTunes.

I always wanted to see Prince in concert, but unfortunately never got to.  I'm loving reading about everyone's experiences.

@Mz iMac   You actually saw Prince live! That must have  been so great. I'm jealous.

You said, "the first time". Did you see him again?

@Enufstuff   Let's just say I was a "purple half dressing groupie" during Prince's early years (before he became a Jehovah's Witness)peep.gif

I last saw him around 2016.  Lets just say I was dressed more conservatively except I still have & wore my thigh high purple suede boots.  🙃

@Mz iMac   Half dressing? Oh my! The bottom half or the top half?

You must have really been "stylin" in your thigh high purple suede boots. They must have been beautiful.

You still have them? Do you wear them?

I never wore thigh high boots, but I have two daughters who would be loving your purple boots.

I'm so short, less than 4'11" now, if I even tried on thigh high boots, they would be up to my Cr**ch!

It is so wonderful that you got to see Prince again in 2016.

@Mz iMac   You have some great stories.  The building - the father of the prince imitator.  Pretty funny. And I'm sure you rocked those purple suede boots!  You sound like you always have fun whatever you do!  The 70's musicians were fabulous.  Never saw Prince, and I really missed out.  So many great musicians gone too soon!

@Enufstuff   in you raspberry beret!

Loved Rick James, his song You and I is one of my favorites from that era.  I liked Prince too, incredibly talented guitartist...just never thought he was sexy, just not my idea of a sexy man, but i knew plenty of girls that thought differently!

Never been to a Rick James concert because by the time he reached Philly he was either hours late or never bothered to show up at all.  I was scared of losing my $$$$.  I don't remember if concert promoters gave you your $$$ back during the 70's, 80s & 90s.

Another act I never saw in concert was Sly & The Family Stones due to the same reasons as Rick James.

Loved reading your stories!

I was into disco back in the 80's (still am ... ); really enjoyed both performers, and sorry that both passed the way they did.

I did not know Rick James and Melvin Franklin were related.  Guess that explains that great song the Temptations did with him.

I'm going to look for that documentary.

@Mz iMac   That is so pretty. Is that what you wore?

With anything over it? Or, just a trench coat?

She's a "very kinky girl"! "That girl is pretty wild now."

That would have been perfect for a Rick James   concert.

When I was young, I probably would have liked that

under a sheer peignoir, but only at home in the boudoir.

I didn't have anything like that, but I had Teddies

and pretty lacy things from Victoria's secret.
