If I had known life was so short,  I would have planted more trees.

@GingerPeach

Living out in the country of a very wooded state, logging is a part of life. My grandpa was even a logger. I am bothered when a hillside is clear cut. I love trees. I love to see the woods. I know that harvesting wood is still a necessity, but little me cries when trees are destroyed because of something unnecessary. I cringe at the sound of a power saw. So, even though I can't come to your community and stand for your trees, I'll stand for you, @Homegirl because you are doing a good work.

Homegirl:

I am in agreement with you as far as your statements on saving trees.  I live in a place called the Borough of trees and while people care, some could care less.  If a tree is diseased or dead I can understand taking the tree down.  However, if people just decide because they don't want to clean leaves or want to cement every inch of space, I think there is room for concern.

I know people will comment and insist it is your property to do as you please.  However, trees are necessary for the reasons you stated and therefore why kill perfectly healthy  trees.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions on this matter but I believe trees are here for a reason and contribute to a healthy environment.

@GingerPeach @LIG1 ~ Thank you both for the tips for posting pictures.  When it comes to things of a technical nature I have no patience, lol!  When it comes to gardening and/or decorating I'm a whiz!!!  I promise to figure it out and share some photos with all of you!  :-)

Here are words for a flyer I created because some in my community think it's OK to cut down perfectly healthy trees.  Long story behind it.

WHO WILL STAND UP FOR OUR TREES?

Before over 30 HEALTHY trees are destroyed, consider this:

Shade lost while temperatures climb.
New trees cannot catch up in time.

Birds lose homes and cover.
Pollinators may not recover.

One grown tree makes oxygen to breathe
For one human being a day, just with its leaves.

Baby trees cannot compete
Few roots, few leaves, their abilities incomplete.

But we’ve had no plans, no discussion, no chart.
Does it feel like our community’s been left in the dark?

There are other options:  transplanting, pruning, spray.
Through committees and education, we could choose another way.

I like it @GingerPeach. But sorry for the reason for it.

You write very well.
