Returns at Sam's

[ Edited ]

I haven't bought clothes at Sams in years but happened on some great buys for family.  Of course I overbought but after just few days I took my returns back.  I had receipt and clerk scanned tags on some I-pad.  I could not see amount scanned in.  Normally I mark my receipt next to item returning but I could not pair up items because numbers were different than on tags.  Clerk used a permanent marker and crossed off item detail - not the price but made item illegible.  Hate this.  No managers to talk to.  Weeks ago we had an issue with our membership renewal.  There was no one answering phones.  Is this common?

cannot say i have ever seen clerks scanning items on ipads in my sams club. i always use the scan and go feature on my phone. i scan my own items as i shop and check out on my phone. it makes it so much easier and i dont have to remove items out of my cart until i get to the car.

Tried to return a phone last year that I bought online. Not an easy return; couldn't do it in store so I had to go to FedEx to return.  Bought another phone at same time on Amazon and return was seamless; next phone I buy will be from Amazon for sure!

I have only seen returns being handled at the Customer Service desk. And they do the return in their computer set up. Have never seen anyone using an I-pad. They circle the item returned with a ballpoint pen.

The manager of Sam's that I go to, is very visible. She even helped us do self check out. She asked about our shopping trip and did we find everything we wanted. We said we didn't see Famous Amos cookies and YooHoo. Next trip to Sam's there was Famous Amos and Yoo-Hoo.

You can tell she is a real go getter. And why she is the Manager.

Never called on the phone. But I like the feature that you can look up on line and see if an item is in stock and what stores have an item. Wish Costco would do that.

Sounds like your manager is top notch.

Return was at service desk.  Tablet was mounted on stand but no info available to customer.  She held up hang-tag to the tablet.  When I questioned what item was, she went to different computer where I could see what was rung in.
