Re: Returning Non Damaged Items?? - Heads up!!!

Clearly QVC needs to change it's name as the quality and the value are long ago gone. It is still convenient I guess.

This doesn't seem out of line to me. Why should they be responsibel to pay shipping costs of a returned item just because someone has buyers remorse and wants to return it?

Just one more case of be careful what you wish for.  Many wanted lower shipping costs which they got but there was a price to pay--costs that Q used to eat.

It is also another case of "so what" until personally affected then it becomes a big deal.

....which seems like a very fair compromise for a business whose bottom line always has to be "the buck."  It discourages those who used to purchase a lot and return a lot from purchasing at all.  These are the customers the Q wants to eliminate, who are dragging down their bottom line.

A few things:

*That $3 shipping has climbed to $6.95 on most items I've ordered so that was a....lie?

*If an item doesn't fit and I have to return for an exchange then in my world, it's defective

and I expect the charges to be removed- I call, inf9rm and then check my statement. If not done, I call again until it's done.

Buyer remorse is one thing but an item that is not what it should be IS defective and either replace it or return my money. I've had no issue but I also inform CS as soon as it's obvious the item is going to have to go back; usually for an exchange.

I d not understand complaints like this.

In addition to QVC being open about its policy, notifying customers multiple times before implementation in addition to spelling it out on the website, why should customers not pay for their own shipping?

If someone makes a purchase, decides she does not like it, and returns it, why should she not pay for shipping -- at a minimum?  The customer made the decisiont o purchase it, and the customer made the decisiont o send it back.  This was not a decision made by QC or QVC's other customers.  If the purchaser does not pay for the shipping, then the rest of us end up paying for it in higher prices, and that is simply unfair.

The lesson to be taken from this is to be decisive and informed BEFORE making the purchase.  Do not expect QVC to send you merchandise on approval, and do not expect the rest of us to help defray poor purchasing decisions.

@KYToby  I agreed with this until the original shipping was not included in the refund.  It was then not so expensive to return if necessary.

I haven't paid $6.95 shipping on anything since the changes were made in February.  What items are you talking about (give an example, so we can see)?

Or are you confusing the return label fee with the original shipping of (generally) either $3 or $5?  The return label fee has pretty much always been either $6.95 or $8.95, depending on the item.

I don't think there's any lie involved.

Re: Returning Non Damaged Items?? - Heads up!!!

[ Edited ]

I think I understand. Recently I returned a Dooney bag for refund. I used the pre-paid QVC return label and expected $6.95 to be deducted from my refund. However, when I checked on return status not only was the $6.95 deducted they also charge a "pro rated shipping and handling charge" which I was not aware would occur. Here is part of the explanation I received when I questioned why more than the return Shipping fee was deducted:

In February 2015, we changed our shipping and handling policy and no longer
refund original shipping charges when an item is returned. From your
billed easy pay installment of $22.55, we deducted $6.95 for the Q Return
Label fee, as well as $1.41 for the pro-rated shipping and handling charge,
leaving a refund to your QCard of $14.19. I hope this explanation is
helpful.

I was NOT expecting it to cost MORE to return than it was to SHIP to me either.

So for those long time forum posters it's very unfair to be sarcastic and frankly mean in some of your replies. We are all here to help are we not?

Re: Returning Non Damaged Items?? - Heads up!!!

I never return anything back to QVC unless it was damaged. That is rare.

If something does not fit, or I do not like it, I just donate it to Good Will..... And write it off on my taxes at full  face value as a new donated  item.  Good will is happy and I am happy.
