Oh sure, I think it's from the book of "Retiree Handbook of new things to do".

Re: Retirees, do you lose track of the day/date?

It's been 12 yrs since I retired, yes I thought today was Tuesday! Looked on the computer and today is Wed.  I have a daily planner and I try not to miss writing in it each day because I barely remember what happened the day before. My cognitive and mental functions are still there most of the time.

I sure do. To make matters worse, tomorrow is my doctor appointment and once a year, they give a short memeory test. OMG, hope I muddle thru. It's just a word test, but they give you words to remember then ramble on about something else for 10 minutes. I need to focus. Wish me luck.

Re: Retirees, do you lose track of the day/date?

For me the days of the week are kept  straight in mind by my skin care routine and also by what dietary supplements I take. I do specific things on specific days of the week. I take pills on certain days and not others. My garbage pick-up days, my laundry days, house cleaning days...these are how I keep track of the days of the week. I never lose track of the date or day of the week.

I work and I still can loose track as to what day it is, especially when I first wake up.

Re: Retirees, do you lose track of the day/date?

Yes ... but for some strange reason, I have problems with Mondays.  Maybe it's PTWD  (post traumatic work disorder).

I can never remember it's Monday.

I never schedule any appointments for Monday .... I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I spent almost 50 years dreading Monday mornings!

(Loved my jobs ... hated my Mondays)
