I read this the other day and found it utterly outrageous!!  The world is getting more and more convoluted all the time with the explanation being accepted by the public as perfectly reasonable!  Up is down and down is up and money and/or power usually the motive!

We have the power to change this, let's get with it. I feel we average Joe's and Josie's are going to be living in a world of hurt if we don't. We are on a slippery slope.

Walmart did have a program where first time shoplifters had to pay a $300 -$500 fine and go through training, but it was ended after a judge said it was extortion.

If it is a hoax, I didn't see anything on Snopes about it, and Snopes is my trusted source when it comes to fake news. And while doing a Google search, I found a reddit post and an Wall Street Journal article with people claiming to receive the same letter:

https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/comments/31xywg/il_caught_shoplifting_at_walmart_restitution_pa...

https://poststar.com/business/local/retailers-take-shoplifting-battle-to-homes/article_4aeab8de-b714...

So it appears it's on the level, at least where getting letters is concerned.

That was a different and unrelated program.

But I agree, this is a legit story with proper sources and documents backing it up.

It's too bad that QVC has made people so afraid of sharing legitimate news links that now people copy and paste without sources and people scream about fake stories.  Some of this could have been cleared up pages ago if the OP had not been afraid to include a link to the article because the mods would delete it in case the same news source also had a political article. QVC's policies breed distrust and foster ignorance, making this a less responsible environment. What a great shame.

Seriously?   I didn't realize there were so many gullible people ....  clearly, you've never read the Times.

I do realize that there are many gullible people..The

It’s a travesty of its former glory as our national

Oh so no real proof only opinion? Repeating a lie over and over does not make it true, no matter how much you wish it were true

@lovesrecess,

You may have seen shoplifting, but the store personnel didn't.
