Re: Responding to others on Forum's

these concerns have been mentioned by other posters several times in the past, and will no doubt be mentioned again. harsh comments are indeed tough to read, but we're all very different and therefore interpret things differently. what may be harsh to one may not even be offensive to another. people will post whatever their opinions are. they might not even realize they're being hurtful. in a public forum, i guess we just have to keep an open mind and not expect others to have the same sensibilities as we do.

Anonymity is easy to blame, but people are rude on planes, in stores, well everywhere.

I like variety, don't mind hostel posts, it's like salty with sweet, the salty makes the sweet even better.

I ignore certain posts because they are so obviously baiting. There are also the posters who like to contradict you no matter what you say. I say black you say white, etc. I try to avoid these responses.

Since I believe in Karma, I try not to post thoughts that could be interpreted as combative.  I'm not comfortable with confrontation.  I'm guessing that I only open 2-3% of the threads on this forum.

Re: Responding to others on Forum's

Mom always said "I'ts not what you say, it's HOW you say it"   I try to choose words with care and focus on the subject, not the person.

If someone has the need to vent on something I rarely comment, telling them to shop elsewhere, being snarky etc doesn't help.  I love a good discussion with  different opinions, thoughts and ideas. Some I agree with, other not and tht's how it should be. Just be respectful.

My philosophy...

What you say or write, whether directed to an individual or others, intentionally or not, can always be reciprocated BACK TO YOU.

Be ready to be on the receiving end of that reciprocation.  Whether YOU like it or not.

Be kind.  Life is short.

This subject has been addressed many times.

Learn who you like to interact with and avoid the rest...simple.

@Sassycoco The only point I see to what you are trying to say by not saying it is that you don't like some people's posts and consider them inappropriate or mean.

Is that the bottom line?
