@ms traditional  Appreciate you keeping us updated.  This is going to be a long haul for the Scalise family and his life has changed forever. My prayers are for healing for all that have been impacted and for peace of mind to face the challenges that are ahead.  Right now we need to get Rep. Scalise through the surgeries and into the recovery stage.

According to local news and our local newspaper, Steve Scalise has now undergone three surgeries and has shown slight improvement. Yesterday's surgery required 8 hours.

The hospital is quoted as saying, "The Congressman will require additional operations and will be in the hospital for some time."  No additional information was forthcoming, but word of mouth locally says he had major damage to the hip as well as significant internal injuries and heavy blood loss.

Please keep up the prayers.  This is a wonderful American- the kind we badly need in our government.
