Re: Remembrance Notice

[ Edited ]

       **  WARNING  **

*Only* Select *SPOILER* below, if you're ready for an utterly, blunt, awful, yet devoted Memorial.

I cant even imagine living in a World where we dont, or wont, remember this horrid, unthinkable, outrageous, *HUMAN CAUSED* event.

Not environmental event. *HUMAN CAUSED!!*

Spoiler

*

I saw a picture a few years ago, where a man was atop of a bulldozer & he was wearing a mask, intent on bulldozing what he was bulldozing.  Upon closer look, I wondered, "?what was he so intent on bulldozing?.  At the scoop of his bulldozer were piles & piles of bones, human bones.

  I was in SHOCK!

I can remember swallowing my own breath!

HOW could someone be seduced into Bulldozing Human Bones of killed people, people killed, by the hundreds?  thousands? viciously.  For an utterly, utterly, stupid, stupid reason!   Unfathomable.

So we CAN NOT forget!   I cant forget.

 ~   ~    ~

Remember the scene in "Schindler's List (1993)" movie, where it was "snowing?"   It was NOT SNOW.  It was ASHES!  HUMAN ASHES, of those many many victims subjected to unthinkable human evil.  It's *WHO* those ashes were?

I had a patient eons ago,who had her arm stamped with her Nazi number.  I was aghast.  I didnt know what to say.  Her eyes were a kind of teary any way, elusive, with an unimaginable sadness.  All I could say was, "I'm so sorry."

*

This was a crime of ALL of us.

Not just one, not just ignorant, power hungry soldiers.

Not just the evil in people, cause we ALL have some level of evil in us.

Just NEVER EVER EVER allow any where near such a most horrible, unthinkable event even to ignite, - not even a spark!!  'cause it spreads like wild fire.  Like the outrageous recent Santa Ana Winds, California fires, at a minimum!  Unstoppable, before you know it!  Once it quietly takes hold by a little spark!

Dont think we're over it.

Each year, most Holocaust survivors die - live remnants, testifying of this horrid event, until its solely ancester's memories, risking being viewed as merely lore.

WE SHALL ALWAYS REMEMBER!

   AND NEVER ALLOW AGAIN!

                ! PROMISE !

I didn't see the notice but thank you for highlighting it.

Every year I ponder this tragedy in our history. It makes my heart sink.

It reminds me of my father in law years ago. He once showed me Polaroid black and white photos he had when he was in the army. His platoon was one of the first to find

a camp and the atrocities. I truly believe he carried that because when he came home he was never the same. He suffered emotionally and mentally.
Im not the generation that lived in that moment and I cannot imagine the impact the world felt when it was revealed.

Yes, while it can't be compared, and is less diabolically concentrated, powerful and "comprehensive" as the Nazis and their camps, our own age has its own 'fillip' on evil-- a dispersion of murdering sado-terrorists around the world, who leave filmed evidence of their heinous acts of torture and targeted murder,  dementedly, as if they were something to be lauded.

@FancyPhillyshopper@Oznell@katie1859@JoyFilled Warrior@JoyFilled Warrior, @Q-Checker, @JeanLouiseFinch,

It occurred to me that some of you might not be familiar with the biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran minister who

stood up to Hitler.  Eric Metaxas' book Bonhoeffer, Pastor,

Martyr, Prophet, Spy" is an excellent example of what one brave person can do in the face of evil.

@PamfromCT ,  Eric Metaxas' illuminating book on the courageous Bonhoeffer is a fantastic recommendation!

Hi  @PamfromCT

Thank you for taking the time to offer up this important recommendation!

I'm familiar with some Bonhoeffer, but could certainly benefit from the need to know even more!

Take good care.  Woman Happy

Yes!  There was a movie about Bonhoeffer years ago and a new movie about him by Angel Sudios (who did The Sound of Freedom), that came out last November.  We missed seeing it, but intend to look for streaming possibilities.

I think her point is there is no acknowledgement.
