Years and years ago QVC had a thing where several people tried out as host and the viewers voted? A guy named Dave James won.  Okay here is my idea. What if instead of QVC getting rid of people like Dan and Carolyn as their own decision, have the viewers would vote on the ones to leave.  Haha I think the ratings would soar as we watch the hosts explain why they should remain and have the viewers vote for the ones to leave.  Haha, I am joking of course. But I do remember the fun of voting for the host. I did vote for Dave James and he stayed a while before he moved on.

@mormel20 - Yes, I remember that.  Dave James was a class act.  He won the vote out of the final 5, with over 9 million votes.

Antonella Nester didn't win, but they hired them both.  Dave was let go after just under 9 years.  (Personally, I was never a fan of AN and the over-the-top antics.)

I also remember people questioning how well a man could present women's jewelry, but Dave did it extremely well.

The fact that the Q showed him the door, when he was always well-prepared, calm and informative in presentation, shows nothing much has changed, IMO.  (For some reason, there was talk that there seemed to be a bit of friction from Rick D.  Perhaps he didn't like the "competition"?)

While there are some hosts that I don't care to watch, I would hate for anyone to lose their jobs.
