Remember the scary Lucy statue?

"Scary" Lucy is being replaced. The new statue is beautiful.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

A Lucille Ball statue unveiled in 2009 and dubbed "scary" is finally being replaced with a new sculpture of the comedy icon, set to be revealed this weekend.

Artist Carolyn Palmer created the new statue for Ball's hometown of Celoron, N.Y.

I have to admit - seeing that first one again - I keep laughing, but at the same time feel scared. It's like it is some evil witch person trying to feed you poison.

At any rate, I'm glad they finally replaced it. That first one was just some kinda horror show!

I do feel a bit sorry for the artist. He thought he did a good job.

I could feel sorry for him if he had never seen a picture of Lucille Ball. But c'mon, the woman was beautiful. Did he not compare the sculpture to photos as he was going along or did they flash her picture at him once and he completed the work from memory.
