Remember Joy's Miracle Clean? The smelly one that she raved about.

I liked the cleaner but it was the smell that everyone complained about. I have several bottles that I never returned. It says on the bottle that it kills the Coronavirus. I have been using it on my door handles etc.

This has NOT been tested on the current novel coronavirus. The product label refers to the type of coronavirus that cause the common cold. It can’t hurt to clean with it but you would be wrong to assume that it is killing the COVID-19 causing coronavirus that we are currently worried about.

I was about to offer what bikerbabe explained so well.  There are several coronaviruses.  COVID-19 is the newest manifestation of this type of virus, and the name indicates the year that it was first identified (in this case, 2019).

[I think I read that it was first noted on November 17, 2019, and named a month later.]

@conlt

As already mentioned, it hasn’t been tested or shown to kill COVID-19. But I have the same cleaner and like it. I’m glad I’ve got it and I am using it.

@goldensrbest Thymol.  Derrived from herb Thyme.  It's what causes the strange scent.
