Re: Regional ways of saying things...

I watch a lot of English shows and like how they say "come through" instead of "come in".

There are some words/phrases the British use that I really like.

'Gobsmacked' is one of my favs.  In this moment, that's the only one that comes to mind, but I know there are a couple others.

Oh, and there is 'bloodyhell'.   (I put that together because I don't know if you can say the second part of it here, but it's harmless.)  Smiley Happy

And they also call a Dr.'s office a "surgery" which scares me.

How do you say the fruit Apricot?  I say APE pricot like a gorrila.  Some say APP pricot like an app on a phone.

At work if we want to get rid of papers we say "nuke it". (In the shredder).

ITA with NJ.

One thing my husband does that annoys me (just a little - I'm over it) is his pronounciation of certain words like receipt, hotel, motel.   He emphasizes the first syllable.

Different regional ways...???

...."you'll get choked" doesn't make sense and isn't grammatically correct.

Not a fan of the way southerners speak.
