Record Flooding, rivers finally cresting

Many families are out of their homes on New Years eve here in the St. Louis County Mo area due to several  rivers out of their banks from the record rain over the past weekend and Monday.  The highways were shut down for miles, homes lost.  People have come together to sand bag but sadly many lost their homes to the river.  One positive story I heard was that a couple who were driving thru the St. Louis area on their way home to Minnesota had to spend the night at a hotel because the highway was shut down. They got up the next morning and decided to help with sand bagging to protect a home.  That was awesome and they will be blessed.  The rivers have crested for the most part but it will be a while for people to get their lives back together.  I am fortunate to not have been in the area of the floods but I pray for everyone who had to go thru this and for everyone else I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year.

It's heartbreaking to see the flooding and knowing that so many will be affected.  The tornado areas as well.

I believe we are a strong nation with resilience and generosity.  Somehow we will all pull together to get others through this all.

Everyone, take care, stay safe and warm.

My heart breaks for all the families in so many states that are enduring the loss of all they own due to the flooding.  The weather certainly seems to be devastating more so than it has in past years.  I have not check yet in our state but normally the Red Cross is in need of money, blankets, etc. for flood victims.  It makes me realize how fortunate I am.

Yes my heart breaks for all of these who are suffering and many homeless now due to unbelieveable flooding.  Brings tears to my eyes watching these news stories.

God bless them everyone - help them get through this.

People in the Midwest pull together in times of trouble - I'm proud to be a midwesterner!  So sad that these families have to go through this at the start of the year.  When I moved to Indiana, I made sure I picked my home that wasn't near any rivers!
