Re: Recommend a Summer perfume

@Oznell

Wow!  Your post brought me right back to the late 70s-early 80s!  I have a boatload of sisters and among their favorites were "Wind Song" "L'air du Temps" and "Rive Gauche" and "Je Reviens".

I memorized all of those names in order to easily navigate Christmas and birthdays!

I used to go to Toronto every year and my mother would love it when I brought home a perfume called "Harmonis"

by Canadian parfumer Lise Watier.

Mom' gone and my sisters are all getting their perfume from the hubs and kids so I don't even recognize the names of the newer scents folks here have mentioned.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!  Music and scent are two of the best memory triggers!

Re: Recommend a Summer perfume

Mmm, those are luscious, @Enufstuff ,  anything with lily-of- the-valley is for me too.

@MalibuFox ,  great pick, I've worn "Fracas" by Piguet and loved it too! A distinctively romantic and impeccable French scent.   For some reason it did not last long on me, but fabulous none the less.

@781Florist , those were the greatest.   My mother wore "Je Reviens" as well.  Some of my favorites of all time go back to 1913-- I think that's when legendary "L'heure Bleue" by Guerlain came out.  I do like some contemporary scents, but as a rule, the "oldies but goodies" from the great old perfume houses, rule for me.

@Oznell   You made me smile.  I wore a number of those fragrances.  Great memories.

Very old school here, I wear White Shoulders or Jean Nate splash in the summer and Chanel # 5 in the cooler months.

Re: Recommend a Summer perfume

I wore Rive Gauche for years it was signature fragrance. Then it was changed in 2000 or a little earlier, to suit "the modern woman", true quote.  It just was different in a couple ways. That frangrance was the 70's.  OMG one fragrance that I got compliments everywhere I went.

I really liked Tova Summer Signature but have not seen it in awhile. Philosphy had a summer fragrance out a few years ago but don't know if they are still making it; my daughter got a bottle of it for her birthday from a friend.

 I really like Elizabeth Arden White Tea.   It's a light floral summer fragrance...but I wear it year round.  I always get compliments when I wear it.

@Mombo1

I've been going through some of my old favorites and have been wearing Clinique's Happy Heart lately. I forgot all about EA White Tea so just had to go find some and order it again Woman Wink

Just wanted to add if you or anyone else is looking for it, FragranceNet has the White Tea eau de parfum on clearance for $29+ for the large 3.3 oz spray (The eau de toilette is $23+). It's on it's way to me and I'm looking forward to trying it again. Thanks for mentioning it!

Re: Recommend a Summer perfume

Years ago I wore Lauren by RL & managed to find a bottle but it smelled nothing like the original. In winter, I still wear Estée Lauder Youth Dew. I’ve worn Fracas, Cristalle & Diorissmo forever in the summer. I’m now wearing a lovely perfume I purchased in Norway, Laila.

Oh yes Laila the Essence of Norway (by Geir Ness) - another favorite I haven't thought about in a while. Love it!

I only wish I could go to Norway to buy it, but anytime we went to Walt Disney World I would purchase some at the Norway pavillion in EPCOT. That's a lot closer to me! Hmm maybe time to take a little trip to EPCOT LOL...

Geir Ness does visit the Norway pavillion occasionally (I found this picture a fan took in 2020). I bet he smells really good haha:
