The temperature was usually in the very low eighties with a breeze blowing. It was very nice. It would be sweltering here around D. C., but not there. I've noticed a big change in recent years. The heat and humidity have invaded there much more frequently. I guess it's a sign of the times.i will take the winter and cold weather back over the heat and humidity.....YUK.....it feels so horrible outside and it makes ME feel horrible.
cant wait to get to the beach!
wookie, i have definitely noticed that also. whenever we are there and it is hot and humid back in town, friends and family say oh but you are lucky to be at the beach....it is a lot cooler there. i tell them no, it is just as hot and humid here.....i can barely walk in the sand barefoot anymore. we used to leave the windows open at night to get the nice breeze but we dont get that much anymore either, unless a thunderstorm is blowing through. the best part about being there though is that when i am on the beach i can jump in the ocean OR the pool when i get hot.
just had a bunch of cleaning and maintenance work done about two weeks ago so i am so ready to go down......middle of next week!

Yes......the heat is definitely on!!On 6/16/2014 Usedtobeoxox said:On 6/16/2014 Yahooey said:No luck there, NYC is climbing into the high 80s as the week progresses. I don't do well after 80. Enjoy your stay.
Hmm I live in suburban NYC and just looked at the rest of the week, mid 80's not bad considering it is almost later June
I like the cold - shoveling snow, don't mind it . Hate heat, I can only go so n@ ked.

It is very hot here in Raleigh too. Currently at 5:35 it is 95 degrees and my thermometer thingy says 51% humidity.
I lived in New Mexico when my daughter was born and the day she was born it was 117 degrees and it didn't feel this hot. The humidity changes what could have been a very bearable day to unbearable.

Its hot today in the midwest, very steamy too. I hate the summers here, long for the cooler drier air in Colorado..hopefully someday my sons and I can move there.

Same here. Heat, I'm so-so about, heat and humidity NOOOOOOO! It is AWFUL here today after a gorgeous weekend. Walked out of the garage to bring in my garbage cans and the heat and humidity slammed me like I walked into a wall!
I'm with you about the humidity!!!

Today was the first day this year over 80. It was 83, yuck. I do my far share of complaining about minus numbers, but i'll long for them as it gets closer to 100. By my calculation, that will happen next month.

Weather not the best here yesterday here in Nebraska for sure. Had terrible tornadoes go through some towns in the NW part of the state. Many in the meteorology field said they had never seen twin tornadoes the size of the ones that touched down in Pilger, Nebraska.
Humidity in the 90 percent but temps not that high. Not what some would see as comfortable but with high humidity it is amazing how the body cools itself via evaporation and all it takes is air blowing over moisture to achieve this cooling effect. The body is amazing at taking care of itself if some will let it.
