Reading reviews for products

I read a LOT of reviews about products before I buy them. If a reviewer posts a poor review, I will tend to check their 'history' to see what their overall rating of products is to see if there is a pattern of just posting mainly negative reviews (of many...not just one or two). You'd be surprised how many there are that do that...and return the majority of what they buy. There is being 'picky' and then there is just over the top 'picky'!

If that be the case, I won't take that review seriously...

Does anyone else do this? Smile

And I bet those are the very same people who then come here to whine and cry and bit*h over QVC sending them the "warning" letter!{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

No, I don't do that type of checking on anyone. I do my own research along with reading reviews from many sources, when possible. I probably don't buy similar items here as the ladies so most of what I buy is not exclusive to any particular shopping network or particular online store.

I rely more on my knowledge, with a little common sense thrown in at times, and my own research before buying almost anything that cost over $20.

Right! That is exactly what I was thinking {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Reading reviews for products

I do as you do, OP. I consider it research to check the source of reviews especially if there aren't many. Some of the products are exclusive to QVC and these reviews and/or the forums are the best source of information but they can be wrong.

I do the same. I find Amazon one of the best sources for reviews...I have never returned an item.

Re: Reading reviews for products

I got that freakin' Shark floor cleaner.

JUST LIKE SWIFFER.....it leaves the product on the floor. Just moving dirty

water around. So, to fix that I did it again with plain water and got all the gray

junk up. NOW the floor is clean! Yeah, it's going back.

Guessing they don't want my review.

I sort the reviews by the lowest ones 1st. I think Amazons reviews are more trust worthy

Re: Reading reviews for products

I find it amazing that they're still allowed to buy stuff after stating that they've returned so many things but maybe they really kept some of it. In one of my reviews I stated it was going back but I changed my mind.

Same here on all underscored points, but my price starts at $5; I have an extremely tight budget.
