Re: Reached my goal weight today

Congrats on your weight loss. I have always wondered about those who take injectable drugs to lose weight, what happens after you stop with the drugs? I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago the old fashioned way. Eating good and most of all I walk. I still walk 7-8 miles a day. This is the first time, in my life, that I have kept my weight off. It's taken me 71 years to figure this out. Keep us posted about how you are doing.

Congratulations!!!!!!

Several years ago, I lost 80 pounds. I fluctuate 5+ or 5- at times. I'm still fluffy but better than before. I'm working on losing 25 more.

Re: Reached my goal weight today

Way to go!!! Congratulations 🎉 I too have been losing weight. I’m about 15-20 from where I want to be. Zero issues with the injections. I don’t get the “pre filied” shots and it’s much cheaper $165 for 4 weeks. I’ve lost over 50. Been hard going through a lot here and stuck with my narcissist hopefully ex until we (my daughter her husband and myself) can refinance this house 🏠 You are awesome 👏 what people don’t realize is these injections don’t melt fat you still have to diet and exercise. It’s not an easy way out instead it just helps psychologically to reset your brain and the things you crave. You’re not going to go to sleep and wake up 50lbs slimmer. So again major kudos to you!! 🎉🎉

I have only read a couple of your threads concerning this, so I'm wondering what dietary changes did you make on top of using the drug?  From what I've heard, most of what makes the drug work is that it stops the hunger noise in your brain.  If that comes back, will you be able to maintain?  I don't think it has anything to do with now much weight is lost.

I'm glad you're feeling better though.

I don't put any stock in BMI.  It's just the old height/weight charts in a different format and don't take into account muscle weight which is heavier by volume than fat.

I agree. Taking a drug to lose weight without changing your diet is fruitless. They are already showing examples of health issues with the other one, can't  think of the name.

my lifestyle/diet changes will help me maintain my new weight. No drug is without potential adverse effects. However a couple that have been associated with weight loss drugs are rare.

@smoochy Good for you before Covid I lost 80 lbs with Weight Watchers and exercise. I gained about 8 lbs from a medication which I am working to take off slowly. Having dental issues helps I can not eat much these days

@I am still oxox  im sorry about your dental problems. What a pain. Will that be resolved soon? Your past weight loss is impressive. It's not easy is it. Takes daily diligence and being intentional about every food choice
