MOST "long-standing threads" seem to be comprised of only very supportive, caring places for posters who have become friends. They can be restarted Jan 1. Some people start monthly threads, some weekly, some daily - across the forums. Same as that, I thought.

That's a good suggestion, Ford!

I guess I could. The door we have now is a regular six-panel type and the sidelight has light colored stained glass. The door is wood and it swells and shrinks with the weather so it sticks when it's humid. It's very solid, though, which is why I'm torn.

I hope you find something. The sidelight sounds beautiful.

That's the thread I'll miss the most. Sure, they can start a new one, but there are many photos in that thread that cannot be replaced. I think it's very sad that QVC is getting rid of them.

I don't understand that remark. How can someone even know when they originally post that it's going to draw thousands of responses?

That makes 2 of us. I don't see the harm in keeping the long-standing threads. If you aren't interesting in them, just scroll on by. It appears that many have enjoyed posting on them and have become friends, along with support for one another.

Best to not even try to understand that remark. Like a mental health professional once told me, it's like swimming in the sewer of someone's mind.

Or they could just leave them alone.
