Since my pups recent hospitalization and increase/addition of meds his liver enzymes have sky rocketed. My Vet says we need to go lower protein, He has been getting a high quality grain free kibble for about 5 years. I have dabbled in raw and some other dog foods, but he does best on the grain free kibble.
Will switching to a prepared raw which has a much lower protein content help lower liver enzymes? We have added milk thistle and sam-e even though they tend to send him into an IBD flare. I will cook the liver cleansing diet for while, but it won't always be feasible, with also caring for my mom.
thanks in advance
