Absolutely beautiful bird!  I have male and female cardinals that II see in the back yard but have never seen a yellow one.  I love birds, they are truly gifts from nature, all different varieties and vibrant colors, spectacular!  Thanks for sharing this wonder!

@Zhills I too have never had the pleasure of seeing one in person, thanks for sharing!  This is truly a first for me!   When cardinals are her, angels are near....perhaps this one is truly angelic.

Looks sort of tropical in yellow.

How wonderful, we don't get them at all in the PNW.

What a beautiful bird.  I wonder if it's male or female.  We have lots of Cardinals here.  A few years ago we had a white Robin here.  We also have a black squirrel that comes around!

Re: Rare yellow cardinal spotted in Gainesville, Florida.

Cardinals are a popular pet bird in much of the world and I've heard of a breeder overseas who created a yellow strain of them for the pet trade. You can't keep them as a pet in the US due to the 1918 migratory bird treaty act, but they're very popular overseas.

Oh, how absolutely gorgeous!  I have several male and female cardinals in my backyard but I have never seen nor heard of a yellow one.  Thank you so much for posting this photo, it has made my day.  I would give anything to see one in person.
