I had to change stylists after going to the same one for twenty years. I hated to do it, but she changed to a different, fancier building slightly farther away so raised her rate so a haircut would be $110. That is more than I can afford and was a bit disappointed she wouldn't give her longest, regular customers a break on the increase, even if it was still more. I would have been happy to pay $2 more. I know go to someone a friend recommended and she is oky, but my grow- out is not as good so I know the cut isn't as precise.

I shudder to think what I would look like if I tried to cut my own hair! I would have to wear a cap the rest of my life.

@QVCkitty1 Sorry you feel offended by my honest response.  We must live in different parts of the country, my area does not gossip as much, and as such I would not continue to gossip with my hair stylist.  That is what I take offense to, not the actions of the customer who was rude.  MHO

Such a fuss over a customer who didn't like a $2 increase-which affected no one but the customer and the stylist.

Not sure why this merits a "rant" anyway.

The person may have been "rude" but nobody really knows her story.  Just because she is a "professional" doesn't mean something else is not going on with her personally.  Not an excuse but sometimes a little give can go a long way.

I am thinking of just paying our long-time stylist more! She refuses to raise the price for us on her own, because for 20 years her salon was next door to our office, and I helped her with things that needed to be done on a computer, printing things, copies and faxes. It wasn't a lot of extra work for me, and I was glad to do it. She chose to not raise prices on us for that reason. But I know she has to pay more for products, etc. now, so I think I'm going to start giving her a little extra.
