@SeaMaiden  Thanks for posting. I don't need anything from QVC today, but Macy's is also 10% and I needed some Clinique, ordered it and got 3 mini freebies and a full sized freebie in addition to the 10% cash back.  I can sell the freebies at consignment so even more $$.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Question...I still can't understand how it works.

Example: I had a Q item on check few wks ago, saw here there was a Rakuten coupon for % cash back, went to Rakuten and then swithched my order to credit card to pay and order that day. Never saw cash back anywhere, although I still don't get how it works? Maybe it didn't work because it was not originally ordered through Rakuten when I first put in on check?

So I have some other items I'd like to buy and get the 10% off ....just wondering how this actually works, any advice on this appreciated.

My only thought is it has to be on a completely new order, not one I had previously put on "check" on QVC.

2nd ...I still don't get...does the discount or cash back show on my QVC account(or whatever retailer I'm buying from) or Rakuten acct??

TIA

@amyb     YOU SAID:  My only thought is it has to be on a completely new order, not one I had previously put on "check" on QVC

It is only good on the order you are doing at that time... you enter through the Rakuten site to the site you are shopping on( Say QVC at 10%).  You place your order as you alway do.  It will not work on easy pay so just pay in full.  Once you check out... Rakuten will keep track of your vist(s). They hold the order for a period of time, before the credit  is in your account to cash in on.  Usually at least a month ( incase you return it or cancel the order etc).

The discount  or money back will show in the Rakuten site account... and they distribute the funds when you have some totalled up.

@SeaMaiden I'm glad you explained this for @amyb. I was thinking of opening a Rakuten account and I'm pretty sure I would have had some questions, after initially messing everything up.

@SeaMaiden Thank you for explaining AND for telling me about easy pay vs. paid in full...which maybe that's in fine print somewhere, but I wouldn't have known! I had just placed a new order on EP (I tend to pay in full after I know I am keeping the item), but I went back, cancelled it and rebought "paid in full" through Rakuten.

I'm thinking it didn't register on that other order I was talking about because I logged into Rakuten, then went to my order that was already "on check" and "edited it" to credit card...so maybe Rakuten doesn't take that as a new order. Also...I think that too was on Easy Pay, so THAT might have been the problem. Either way, doesn't look like I'm getting cash back for that item. Not sure it was both the EP and Check issue, and I'd love to know because I have a few other items on check I can't cancel and reorder now because they are sold out. Anyway...if I release them, I'll still give Rakuten a try and see if it works on those.

THAT is confusing, I'm sure, to anyone trying to figure out what I'm saying, lol...BUT bottom line...Thank you for helping me with learning how to use Rakuten! Smiley Happy

@amyb   Very important when you shop on ANY of the rebate sites including rakuten... you must stay on the site you are shopping on , say QVC... DO NOT click to some other site and go back... you must finish the transaction to get the credit from start to finish on the same click.    If you go to a new window while shopping and come back, it will not credit your account with the refund.... so just do the sale all in one click. Do You understand?  Trying to explain it as clear as I can.

@SeaMaiden Oh ok...hm...not sure it was "streamlined" after I cancelled first EP order and made Full pay second. LOL sigh. I might try again. tks. All this for about 3.50, lol. But...every little bit.

OK! Updated: Cancelled 2nd order, ordered a 3rd time, straight from Rakuten to QVC; nowhere in between, Done! Now...we'll see...... Thanks again.
