@pattypeep   If you watch her TV show... she does the same thing with her guests on the show.... she appears to be a very bossy and overwhelming personality.

Absolutely.

I have a friend who was a guest on her show, and was treated horribly by her.

I've heard other stories about her too, and I know she is not well-liked by many people who have worked with her.

Yes she got her start in my neck of the woods and I've never heard much nice about her from people in the public that had dealings with her. I know someone that worked with her and I'd say she wasn't difficult to work with then because she was just getting her start in TV but she was always a bit full of herself.

Yes, that's what I've heard too.  She went from kind of quirky/confident to superior/nasty.

Personally, I've never worked with her, but word spreads pretty quickly in the television industry.  And, as I said, I know someone who was on her show and found it to be a terrible experience.  She said everyone else was fine, but RR was a "royal b___".  She was asked to be a guest again about a year later, and declined.

you have a friend that's a celebrity? do tell.

As for RR being a Beyotch, I put no stock in that. It;s her show and maybe she just wants everything to go right. I have been known to be the same thing by people who have worked with me, Know why? Because I expect them to work as hard as I do and be professional and when they aren't well, they would hear about it.  I don't know her one way or the other but from the times I have watched her she does not seem like she has a superior/nasty attitude. Now Giada D, I'd be more inclined to believe that, JMHO

@cherry I agree.  Sometimes I get an idea when I happen to see her to make something we would eat, but never all the cheese and fat and glop that Rachael seems to enjoy.  I never did like things like that.

Also, she uses "I'm Italian!" as an excuse for everything she does?  I have a lot of friends of Italian heritage, although they were born here, and they are rightly proud, but they don't remind us all six times an hour.

I avoid a lot of restaurant dishes today, especially in Mexican restaurants and Italian ones, or either I ask about how much cheese is in it and can it be cut down.

I love good cheese on a cracker but the amounts of gloppy awful stuff they serve now is more than I can handle.  It's cheese overload.

I work in television in NYC, and have for a long time.  I know a lot of celebrities, several are friends, and I've worked with many over all these years.  Obviously, I'm not going to reveal the name of my friend who was on RR's show.

You might not put a lot of stock in what I posted, but I do.  I have heard it repeatedly from many reliable sources, including my friend.  You're free to reject that.

Of course she wants things to go right.  So does everyone else.  Television is a precise business.  I've worked with perfectionists, and I respect them.  But there's a difference between wanting everything to go right and being nasty/not treating people well.

(It's also not "her show" in the sense that you think it is.  She doesn't have total control over everything, and it's not her job to let people "hear about it" if she's not happy.  What I've heard about her though is completely separate from that.  It's her personality, over-inflated ego, and nasty attitude toward other people in general that's the issue.)

It's interesting that you say she doesn't seem as though she has a nasty/superior attitude.  I'm sure you're aware that the way many people seem on television is not at all the way they actually are in real life.

I agree with you, NYC Susan. Not only have I heard and read many little things over the years that indicate that RR needs to learn courtesy toward others, I would also say that her behavior is a dead give-away. She is constantly interrupting and stepping all over her guests as we discussed earlier in the thread. I totally believe what you have said here. It just would not be a surprise. I remember when she had that Japanese organizer lady, Marie Kondo, on, after having only Peter Walsh on for that type of segment for a long time. I thought that was very odd and somewhat disloyal to suddenly bring in someone new Then, she even made them do a show together! Talk about the awkward look on Peter Walsh's face the whole time. It was a bizarre thing to do on RR's part, I think. She just seems like someone I would avoid at all costs. I would not want her as an acquaintance OR friend. Too exhausting and apparently no loyalty.

I think she has a big heart when it comes to animals, She donated a large amount to Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team to buy a bigger plane. She donated a million dollars to Texas rescues after Hurricane Harvey.

I don't care about her hair. She's always been a talker and gets carried away at times. It's who she is.

Oh Susan - you are so right.

When we were at Universal Studios, we were in the audience for the filming of a televised show. I could not believe what a jerk the host was during the breaks of filming. He was yelling at employees of the show and making sure they jumped for his every demand. But watching the show you would have thought he was a funny personable guy and having a wonderful time. Just what they wanted us to think.
