Re: Rachael Ray ....starting to

I can't believe she's still on the air.  I find her to be obnoxious and rude--talking over the guests to the point where they can't even share their knowlege, repeating things they say, and being mean to her husband.  She's all over the place and hyper.  Her recipes are terribly written and too disorganized.  They could be streamlined.

Re: Rachael Ray ....starting to

I have on occasion seen some of her show. I do however own a few of her bakeware pieces and they have started to flake, I've had them for a couple of years I don't even use it that often, I am going to through them out because I don't won't any particles going into my food.

I haven't watched her in years.  Her 10 minutes of fame is looong past due.

I had a friend who managed a large bookstore in downtown Chicago. Ray came in for a book signing and had a huge ego and was very dismissive of the "little people" buying her crummy book. On the other hand giants like Paul McCartney was very nice and down to Earth.  Go figure.

She got her start here locally and this is pretty accurate.

I've never been more than an occasional viewer, now a non-viewer.  Her mere physical appearance is a turn off.  She looks like a homeless person.  She has terrible taste in clothing and hair is a mess.  Also don't like her husband and can't figure out why he keeps appearing.

I tape her show daily & only watch what I want to ... for the most part I like her show ... I do agree she has gotten loud & bossy & she sometimes talks down to John ... he probally takes it because she makes big bucks & he benefits from it....as far as her house in Italy I am very happy for her & hope she enjoys every minute she spends there ...I wish her continued success in the future.

@January121  Her husband is a lawyer so I doubt he has to depend on her.

@proudlyfromNJ    Observing the amount of time he spends hanging around the RR Show, I'd guess he's an unemployed lawyer.  He's probably on Rachel's payroll and does depend on her.

If her show was not in a prime spot behind GMA, I doubt she would be on the air. Katchina,I agree, she is so sloppy!

@proudlyfromNJ You're right. He doesn't have to depend on her. He's an entertainment and licensing attorney who didn't lack for clients when he worked exclusively in the film industry. When he married RR, he said she became his only client.

That's not being on her payroll, that's what I call a collaborative effort lol.  Among other things, he brokers her appearance, licensing, and book deals. RR, herself, has said  that the smartest thing she ever did was marry an entertainment attorney.

I understand what the OP is saying. She's simply venting about someone whose show she used to enjoy. I feel the same way.

I know RR isn't a trained chef, but I always marveled at the dishes she could create by using just what's in her fridge, and how she uses a variety of healthful ingredients (greens, for example). She can be overbearing, though, with this and that ingredient "hanging out" in this pot or pan. And that starchy water... I've done a lot of cooking with pasta, and have never added that sticky, starchy water into anything. Whether it's a butter, oil, cream, or tomato sauce, that pasta is well-drained.

I did used to enjoy the program (as I recall, before she had her current show) where she'd travel and spend a certain maximum on meals per day. I think the amount was eventually increased for inflation. It was interesting to see what she ordered, but I always thought she was a stingy tipper. Either that, 🤔 or the program aired longer ago than I thought lol.

Anyway, I watch occasionally, and I like it when her husband is on, but haven't tuned in as much over the last few years.

@Moonlady , I loved that show! $40.00 a day, I believe. The good ole days of food network.

All her recipes seem to be the same, burgers of all kinds, pastas of all kinds, chicken of all kinds. I stopped watching when she tried to make pozole. That was not how you make POZOLE!!!

I never really liked her. Don’t have any interest in her show. If she bothers you, don’t watch her.
