Re: Rachael Ray ....starting to

You are right about her @Kitty Galore  She can’t take it when someone knows more. She has always felt less than. Because she is not a chef. She has said it repeatedly over the years.

Some of the actual chef’s she has worked with assured her she is just as good. She started believing it and hence full of herself.

I tape her show daily & only watch what I want to ... for the most part I like her show ... I do agree she has gotten loud & bossy & she sometimes talks down to John ... he probally takes it because she makes big bucks & he benefits from it....as far as her house in Italy I am very happy for her & hope she enjoys every minute she spends there ...I wish her continued success in the future.

@January121  Her husband is a lawyer so I doubt he has to depend on her.

I understand what the OP is saying. She's simply venting about someone whose show she used to enjoy. I feel the same way.

I know RR isn't a trained chef, but I always marveled at the dishes she could create by using just what's in her fridge, and how she uses a variety of healthful ingredients (greens, for example). She can be overbearing, though, with this and that ingredient "hanging out" in this pot or pan. And that starchy water... I've done a lot of cooking with pasta, and have never added that sticky, starchy water into anything. Whether it's a butter, oil, cream, or tomato sauce, that pasta is well-drained.

I did used to enjoy the program (as I recall, before she had her current show) where she'd travel and spend a certain maximum on meals per day. I think the amount was eventually increased for inflation. It was interesting to see what she ordered, but I always thought she was a stingy tipper. Either that, 🤔 or the program aired longer ago than I thought lol.

Anyway, I watch occasionally, and I like it when her husband is on, but haven't tuned in as much over the last few years.

I sometimes tune in, she is forever hugging and touching the men guest who come on and share their cooking skills with her, don't really care to see her hair hanging over the food she's preparing either, I hope they just toss it out afterwards.

I have found the best way to avoid the shows you don't like is to just go to their network webpage and select the chef you want...and the list of recipes on their show will come up. You can see what was shown without watching the show. Easy. Never turning on the channel is the best way to not watch it.

Re: Rachael Ray ....starting to

I stopped watching (years ago), when she started hawking her "Rachel Ray Garbage Bowl"

I mean seriously, any real cook certainly has a couple of bowls in his or her cupboard.

Why go out and buy one of hers (to put your food scraps in), when you can use one of your own?! Woman Tongue

Yet, they were selling like hotcakes - People truly can be very gullible - Sheesh! Man LOL

I agree, I no longer watch her either.  I used to enjoy her shows and when she was on the Q, which she hasn't been on in quite awhile now.  I had bought one of her cookbooks years ago.  We made a couple of dishes and they were just okay.  When we downsized, hers was one of the books that got donated.

Re: Rachael Ray ....starting to

I loved her '30 Minute Meals' episodes.

I don't cook anything that takes a lot of time, but I do enjoy her various guests, and also Fashion tips, makeovers, etc.

As far as her Italy home photos, etc., I enjoy seeing them.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
