Re: ROYAL OUTFITS FOR NOVEMBER

@Redshoes07 ,  it still might not make much sense to you, but in Message #5 of the thread, I tried to explain the phenom of "royal clothes-watching" as best I could.  I don't think that mine is the best explanation in the world, however.  It's not that easy to unravel, since different people do it for different reasons, but I do think there's a fairly plausible rationale for such a widespread pastime.

Re: ROYAL OUTFITS FOR NOVEMBER

The same site that had the Remembrance photos, also had some varied shots of other, nice-looking "cool-weather" dressing, past and present:

This was for a recent trip to a "support Ukraine" center in Britain, thus the ribbons--

I really like sweaters, woolens and cute outerwear, so these are right up my alley.

@DottieBlue You made me laugh, remembering runs in hose!  Remember stopping them with clear nail polish?  I'm sure glad those days are far behind me!

Love the second picture, so elegant with the hat and that lovely jeweled poppy pin. The earrings are the perfect compliment.

ITA .... I think much comes from the fact they are accidents by birth.  Never had to qualify or run for public office, yet they are handed a luxurious life and adoration on a silver platter.

Of course, who they are when the cameras aren't present is another thing entirely.

And then having to tug on the pantyhose because it was stuck on your leg.  Ugh.

Yes, I remember doing that, but that didn't look so good, either!  Ha!  I saved a small fortune when I didn't have to wear them anymore.    Smiley Happy

Re: ROYAL OUTFITS FOR NOVEMBER

Funny that pantyhose went out of style. When was that exactly? We moved from Ohio to Florida in 2007. I noticed no one wearing them in Florida, and honestly thought that was a Florida thing, until I learned otherwise - that no one seemed to be wearing them anymore. I am sure I still have a few pair of Leggs somewhere!

Love the bright purple dress with the black tights. I’ve gotten away from wearing dresses years ago because I never really felt comfortable in them but I used to wear tights a lot.

@Redshoes07   Interesting then that you opened and read a thread about the royals. That goes for @Tinkrbl44  also.
