That is just the saddest.

Totally heartbreaking.

I can't watch anymore or will be crying all day and that won't help anyone.

I'm so sorry for him and his family and all those people.

God bless all the rescuers and all those in the flood zones!

Well done, good and faithful servant.  What a committed officer. I saw the interview earlier also and it was so sad.

A dedicated public servant-- how lucky we are to have them, guarding and protecting, and even giving their lives.  RIP,  Sergeant Perez.

Re: RIP: Sgt Steve Perez, HPD

"Dedicated" was the word that I, too, believe captures much of who Sgt. Steve Perez was.  He was a courageous public servant and, most likely, a loving husband.  No doubt those who knew him well understood that he was a man of character, an individual with a moral compass who could be counted on to do the right thing.

May God bless his soul and comfort his family, colleagues and friends.

Tons of heroes right there in Texas. Prayers for him and his family.

So tragic.  So horrible.  My prayers to his family and co-workers.  All of Texas being hit right now has my heart.
