Lead singer for the Stone Temple Pilots & Velvet Revolver. Currently on tour with his new band, Wildabouts.
Many will just see another 'rock star on drugs', but his music moved me.
Back in the 90's, with the inception of Grunge, many found their sound. Nirvana (the original Grunge band), then Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Guns N Roses...heavy rock w/ conceptual videos on MTV. Lots of his music on my iPod...'Plush', 'Vaseline', 'Creep', 'Interstate Love Song'...love them all.
Scott Weiland chased many, many dragons (hopefully he will find peace at last), but his voice is distinguishable & will be missed.

I saw that. Shocked, but in a way not...sad. I was grateful for bands like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Stone Temple Pilots in the early 90s since I was so over the synth-pop of the 80s.
Love his voice. So many of the artists that started out of the Grunge movement are no longer with us...

Sad news. Such an incredible talent. I especially love "Sour Girl."

How about the acoustic version of 'Plush'?

Loved STP in the 90's.....still love so many of their songs. His voice was so distinctive. Hope he is resting in peace.

I liked Scott and STP too. Funny how everyone assumes his death was drug related.

That's true....as of this writing, the cause of death is not being reported due the privacy of the family. Rolling Stone/TMZ is saying he died in his sleep while on his tour bus around 9pm...before his concert time later that same evening.
