I loved Ladyhawke as well! He also played such childlike eveil in the person of Roy Batty in Blade Runner.

So saddened to have read the news. Loved him in all his films. Rutger is the middle name of one of my sons; the first time (Blade Runner) I heard it, I knew I wanted it for a future son, lol.

Very talented actor, especially for me anyway in The Hitcher and Nighthawks. He could play a great villain. He was also quite handsome in his younger days.

 

I remember reading where Ann Rice wanted him for the main Vampire Lestat from her book Interview with a Vampire. She had Rutger in mind for the role, but he was too old....Didn't realize he was 75 already-Wow! RIP!

Look for Blade Runner (1982), Ladyhawke (1985) and Soldier of Orange (1977).

 

His resume stretches from 1969 to 2019.  We have a lot of catching up to do...
