Scott Baio's comments were heartless and cruel, but I expect no less from him.

There were no illicit drugs in her system. Erin Moran smoked and drank. Those habits, in excess, can lead to throat cancer.

So he is hearltess and cruel for speaking the truth? I don't know her story but if she is anything like some people in my life that are druggies, it is frustrating and difficult to deal with and you spend alot of your time and money trying to help them but many clearly don't want help. You can't help them.

So what he says is true- you keep doing drugs and making bad choices, the outcomes for you are not good. It sounds like she had many many people try to help her  (more than most- she was lucky to have so many care and try to help!) and yet she either refused help or fell back into her old ways. We shouldn't always try to sugar coat it.

With that said, I am not a Scott Baio fan in general but I won't call him names for what he said.
