As Carrie, herself, would have no doubt quipped - her mom upstaged her again.

So sorry to have lost them both.

Unbelievable and tragic the way this happened.  Debbie was obviously heartbroken in the real sense.

OMG what a year.

Such sadness... I  hope Todd can stand up to the grief.  Growing up, I had a best friend who looked like Debbie Reynolds.  Everyone would comment on it!!  In my teen years, I had scrapbooks filled with "signed" pictures of Debbie, Doris Day and Tony Curtis!!  I can't even count how many items I have watched "Singing In The Rain"...one of my favorite movies!!

I'm not even much of a fan of either of them, but it's still hit me hard. I mean I liked them well enough, but I didn't really follow either career closely or anything. I think it's because as a mother I can't imagine having to bury my own daughter and I can surely understand wanting to be with her if I did have to. We're very close.

Gary the dog just breaks my heart. I know my family would be able to go on without me but I worry more about my pets.

I don't even know if I've ever watched a movie with Debbie in it.

And I wasn't a fan of Star Wars (saw it--don't really remember it--sorry!)

Just now realized Carrie was the crazy woman in Blues Brothers!  No idea!

But I enjoyed watching both of them on interviews.  Very funny and engaging.

Was happy to hear that Connie Steven's daughters were close with Debbie and her childen.  I love Connie, who suffered a debilitating stroke in Jan 2016, but recovered quite well--thankfully.  Now the sadness is their's, too.Smiley Sad

What bothers me the most is, I can only envision Debbie smiling.  The dimples, the teeth.  Cannot imagine that happy face crying.

@JustJazzmom I think the thing that amazed me the most about this video is that Debbie had no dance background when she was assigned this film (back in the studio days) and Gene Kelly wasn't happy about her casting . . . they locked her in a studio for three months to learn how to dance and what an incredible job she did alongside her well trained partners and I am sure they were all happy with the outcome as that is one of my favorite movies of all time . . . Heart

"Mother" is an Albert Brooks movie where he plays Debbie's adult son.  Her obsession with the cheese and ice cream in the frig is delightful.

I recommend it.
