BOA customer service told us to use the aluminum foil technique.  They did not say the RFID was ineffective but that was the question my husband asked.  Their chip was developed manly for use in foreign countries.  When, we were in Scandinavia last year, many credit card payments were declined but we had the imbedded chip and a recent updated card and our transactions went through fine.  So maybe it depends on your financial institution and the type of chip??

I dont know but your post made me realize I could call and ask my bank about chips and protection.  Thanks I should've thought of that.
