READERS AT THE QUEEN'S FUNERAL

I had to record the funeral, and haven't watched all of it yet, but of what I did see, two of the Bible readings stood out, given by non-clergy.

New Prime Minister Liz Truss was very good.

Baroness Scotland, Commonwealth Secretary-General was riveting.

Devoted Christian that Queen Elizabeth was-- the opposite of "anemic"--  it's a certainty that this aspect of her funeral would have been the most important to her, beyond the pomp and circumstance.

As Baroness Scotland hurled out into the farthest reaches of the Abbey--   "O Death, where is thy sting?"

Somber and yet with hope, these subjects of the Queen did her proud.

Re: READERS AT THE QUEEN'S FUNERAL

The entire service was beautifully done.  The class and grace of Her Majesty's personal input were clearly present in how things were done.

She was so good I had to read the whole passage from Corinthians again after she finished because I had forgotten how powerful it is. The service was superb.

Re: READERS AT THE QUEEN'S FUNERAL

I got up early and watched it. The services at both Westminster and St George's chapel were so nice. You described it perfectly, @Oznell , it was somber, yet with hope. I'm sure her faith helped get her through these past 70 years. The music was beautiful too. The lone bagpipe at the end of the service at St George's chapel was moving.

I thought 7 year old Princess Charlotte and 9 year old Prince George did so well at both services.

Queen Elizabeth has earned a well deserved rest. It's hard to believe she worked just 2 days before she passed. I'm sure she had a joyous reunion with her parents and Phillip.

I watched a replay on BBC this morning. I had to grab the tissue box when it showed her corgis and mentioned her horse, Emma.

Me too, @PMal --   hearing that,  it drove me back to look it up again.  One of the unexpected benefits of these great public services...
