Tinkrbl44...was that necessary? My goodness, the person asked for an answer, not to be insulted. There is an old saying that goes, if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.

I think Tinkrbl44 has a valid point. People have become so intellectually lazy that they ask others for the most basic of information instead of taking a few seconds to look it up.
In this case, it is a word that, while not commonly used, should be something one learned in middle school. While I have been out of school 20+ years, once I got out of elementary school, my teachers always referred me to the dictionary if I had a question about the meaning of a word.
in 2015, a time when the breadth of human knowledge is at our fingertips, sometimes people need reminding that Google is our friend.

sure she could look it up....buy why....she tried to add some interest to these boards that have become painfully slow and somewhat dull....
times past there were plenty of posters everyday and night...there were many many many new topics all the time...some serious..some funny...some ""just because""....and no one snapped the head off the OP.....
can't everyone just be kind....answer her question...as you see there were some who posted their idea of what the word meant...simple enough....
now you mean girls should be ashamed of yourself....

Probably will be an overused word because it is multi syllabic. The more simple sounding word/s are the ideal but folks need to sound like they can impress you.

Let's face it. Most of what js posted here is unnecessary. We can try it out and make an informed decision. This is just fun. So my meaning is essential times 5 (quint). I've been hearing juxiposition a lot and I just looked it up. Happy New Year everyone.

I like the way you broke down the word quintessential. I never thought of it that way.
The juxtaposition of nice people and mean people on these boards is quite abstruse.
