I couldn't believe it , but there were no loud booms or sharp firecracker noises last night. I'm glad for the pets, but it seemed strange. It has always been against the law, but no one paid much attention. It was a good night for the dogs and cats !

There was some  but it was noticeably a lot quieter.

Usually it's sounds like a war zone.

Well, all of the morons must have been in my neighborhood last night!

Kingston was terrified!

We heard what sounded like 4 or 5 major bombs going off last night.  I hate those.  How is that what they call fireworks?!?  Nothing rhythmic, colorful, exciting about it.  Just a single BOOM, then ten minutes later, another Boom!

Thankfully, that's all that went off near me.  I could enjoy the real fireworks display and music on TV.

I shared the same in my neighborhood last night.  Our two kitties, one in particular, was running and hiding everytime a loud cherry bomb or whatever they use these days went off.  Plus I live very close to the bay, and local township fireworks were being set off for several towns in the area.  The sky was lit up as if it were daylight!

It was fairly quiet here!

Fireworks we're going off in the distance and I could see them just barely

but the loud booms I heard echoed off the metal roof of my parking area

and it echoes with an ominous noise

Often wondered what that noise was and now I know where it comes from

We had a significant rain shower about an hour before the fireworks began.

We have a neighbor who is a vet so no one set off any fireworks.

Re: Quiet Fourth

[ Edited ]

When we lived in NJ, every town seeed to have fireworks. So I was disappointed when we moved to PA over 30 years ago that official fireworks were few and far between.

However my yard backs up to a large basin or field where every year there are neighbors who do their own firework show. Last night was no exception! They were pretty spectacular and I love seeing them!

Quiet here too.  Don't know why, but I was glad!
